The Early Years Professional Learning Support sites across the province will be closing as of April 1, 2026. This is due to changes in provincial funding allocations.

As a result, our site here at Jane Norman College will also be closing.

The Early Years Professional Learning Centre at Jane Norman College supported the Early Learning and Child Care Community. We provided professional development opportunities through on-site and virtual workshops as well as in other locations in our region. 

Loose Parts Lab at Jane Norman College

Early childhood educators should also come to visit our Loose Parts Lab.  The Lab was inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to Early Childhood Education whereby materials that would normally be thrown away could be re-used and re-purposed.  The Loose Parts Lab is a place where early childhood educators can come to borrow loose parts for children to use in their play. These loose parts also often referred to as intellectual materials promote critical thinking, problem solving and lets children’s natural inquisitiveness shine.
